If you have ever had to qualify niches’s potential or perform keyword research, you know how challenging it can be at times. It should be easy but sometimes it is not. Sometimes the data is stale and sometimes there is just too much data to comb through.
Why do we need to find that golden nugget called the niche anyway? Well, a niche market is reasonably profitable and the competition is usually low. If the competition is too high, we may never see any profits. The niche market provides a decent amount of traffic and the competitors are few.
There are several strategies when it comes to performing your niche/keyword research. One way would be using Google’s Adword Keyword Tool. Although a decent tool, it does take a bit of time and effort. Time which could be better spent building great content for your site.
If you really want to step up your game, you need to consider The Market Samurai Not only does it simplify your research but it also analyzes your competition. Check out the free download for this tool using the link above. Don't just make a website, build a business.

In 2009, Google brought in twenty three billion in online advertising revenues. Only part of this total actually made it to Google's bank account. A portion of this money was paid out to certain groups. You could most likely guess which group. It shared it’s earnings with the site and blog proprietors that had Google Adsense advertisements on them. Now you know how to earn a little extra income as well.
I can see the blueprints for your website now. All you require is a topic that you are either knowledgeable about or passionate about. You don’t have to be an expert. You should not be worrying now about what you know and don't know. If your idea is good people will want to hear what you have to say.

What's holding you back?
Most people wouldn’t mind having their own website. One that earns a little residual income and is easy to maintain. The problem is not how to make a website. The problem is usually, what should my topic be?
It is not uncommon for you to feel that the topics staring you right in the face aren’t good enough. Aren’t popular enough.
Just check the forums. There isn’t a single day that you don’t find several questions asking for help choosing a theme/niche for a website. You find that people have mulled topics for weeks. The number one question that I am always asked with regards to making a website is; what should my website be about?
Let’s be honest with ourselves. Everyone has knowledge of some subject matter. Why not make a website on that something. Why not create a website that, maybe you are not as knowledgeable as you would like to be but you are passionate about it. I know, you are thinking that no one is interested in what you have to say. No one will visit your site or blog. I say that you probably won’t have thousands of visitors the very first day but someone will be interested.
The things that I enjoy most about websites and blogs…
1. Seeing the dedication, time and money spent on sites to make them enjoyable for others. As a blogger myself, I am appreciative.
2. The passion you feel when visiting certain sites. The passion you encounter when reading articles written by others.
It is the passion that makes the reading interesting. It is also this kind of writing that is most insightful.
The joy of having been introduced to ideas in ways that you never thought possible. It is usually in these instances that you realize that the subject matter is not new. However the perspective is new and interesting.
Bottom line, if you have knowledge of something and you want to make a website or blog out of it, go for it. Yes, in certain cases you will need to do a little research first. This is ok. Just never give up simply because you think an idea is not popular.
